Apricot Health are leading the development of key Healthcare developments in Northern Ireland by developing strategic partnerships with Helathcare professional, government bodies and investments companies.

INVESTMENT

ACTION

DEVELOPMENT

Apricot Health seek to invest with funding partners to deliver key Healthcare Projects throughout Northern Ireland

Establishment of the Health Infrastructure Board (HIB) to oversee the development and implementation of investment in primary care infrastructure. Including considering alternative funding mechanisms, where appropriate, to deliver capital projects.

The primary care infrastructure and service model and the Primary Care Infrastructure Development Programme (PCID) would support the the “Transforming Your Care” (TYC) report 2011 which proposed the delivery of services closer to people’s homes and in the community.

SERVICE MODEL

OPPORTUNITIES

The proposed service model for delivery of this infrastructure was based on a
hub and spoke approach, with many hubs providing core services for its range of spokes. Each spoke will have defined level of services and links with the hospital. It is intended to be the basis upon which Trusts in conjunction with Local Commissioning Groups (LCGs) can structure the local delivery of services.

The proposed  model aimed to create opportunities for the wider independent contractor network (GPs, dentists, pharmacists etc), supporting practitioners to work collectively through appropriate linkages, with access to community services provided in shared facilities. This approach should have created the opportunity for greater efficiencies within integrated care pathways.

The HIB comprises of senior representatives from DHSSPS, HSCB and the Strategic Investment Board (SIB).
